I'm a seasoned developer, an experienced programming instructor, and a former Sergeant in the Marine Corps. My background is unique, built upon the bedrock of leadership and discipline instilled in me as a Non-Commissioned Officer, coupled with a deep passion for technology and game development. This diverse experience has honed my problem-solving skills, my ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, and my proficiency in leading and managing teams. My focus is on crafting immersive gaming experiences, tools to aide in all forms of development, and sharing my knowledge to inspire and educate others in the field of programming.

I've worked on many websites ranging from simple small business pages, with a contact form, to pages with scheduling and email integrations, to full blown ecommerce sites including providing membership subscriptions.
I've extended my expertise to the newest serverless tech stacks. Mostly working with the Google Cloud Platform, and implementing Firestore and Flask, and FastAPI backends, with Bootstrap 5 frontends.
Game development has always been a hobby of mine, but I still work towards the goal of publishing my own games, or working with an indie studio.
I've worked extensively with both Unity and Unreal Engine, and can't decide if I like one better that the other. Unreal Engine has very well polished tools, although they are sometimes lacking in documentation. Unity allows you to make it in to your own engine while working on your game which has greatly inspired me to focus on tools development. Unreal has some engine scripting, but it's oriented towards automating assets with python, or their blutility feature. It does have nice construction scripts that work in editor though.
